We spent with random.
Checked our beauty in mirrors.
Saved for big city trips,
and shopped with no fear.
Shoe boxes stacked high,
new clothes piled on arms.
We giggled, burst with joy,
under the weight
of too much youth.
So glad we indulged
in that sudden explosion
of rough, young blood in the veins.
Embracing the sliver of time
when you mistake the world as yours.
